General Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1915 in Akron, Ohio, initially producing tire repair materials before expanding into tire manufacturing.
Altimax Arctic Studdable Winter / Snow tires in sizes for sports cars, coupes, sedans, minivans, and crossover vehicles, as well as Altimax Arctic LT Light Truck/SUV Studdable Winter / Snow tires in Load Range D or Load Range E sizes for heavy-duty pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, full-size vans, and commercial vehicles, are available from General Tire. To improve grip on hard-packed snow and ice roads, traditional metal studs* can be applied to the shoulder and intermediate tread blocks.
General Tire manufactures commercial truck tires in addition to tires for automobiles, crossovers, sport utility vehicles, and light trucks, which are sold through Wheelrack.
